Cleveland Hopkins International Airport Expansion Plan

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) is finishing a $1.4 billion expansion and renovation program. These improvements will provide the airport's pleasure and business passengers with optimum air service and customer service convenience. Airfield improvements enhance the economic growth opportunities for Cleveland Plus by creating an airfield designed to handle increased passenger capacity with additional non-stop service to domestic and international destinations. The airport also offers two parking garages with 3,800 spaces and a consolidated, off-site car rental facility. New and expanded retail plus food and beverage concessions are located through the main terminal and adjacent concourses. New specialty shops and restaurants, plus improved signage in and around the airport makes the airport easier to navigate and adds to the overall passenger experience. For the convenience of arriving passengers the Visitor Information Center is located on the Baggage Claim Level. A key elements of CLE's planned future expansion include extending one of the parallel runways to 11,250 feet, which will allow unrestricted international non-stop service to the Pacific Rim. The current two main parallel runways are 9,000-feet allowing for simultaneous take-off and landings and allowing an increase of airfield capacity by more than 40%.
