The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) provides public transportation in the City of Cleveland and 58 surrounding municipalities, and ranks among the nation's largest transportation systems.

RTA's public transportation system consists of both bus and rapid transit service with 768 buses running 102 routes, a convenient downtown loop bus system and four rapid transit lines (Red, Blue, Green and Waterfront) taking riders to virtually any destination throughout Greater Cleveland. Fares are $2.00 each way.

Rail Service

Red Line: This line extends from the Louis Stokes Station at Windermere in East-Cleveland to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport in the west. Blue Line and Green Line: These sister lines travel between Tower City and Shaker Square. From Shaker Square, they branch off. The Blue Line goes to Van Aken Boulevard and the intersection of Warrensville Road. The Green Line heads down Shaker Boulevard to Green Road. Downtown Trolley Service

Trolleys are back in Cleveland, and the fare is "free with a smile". Two routes operate from 7am - 7pm Monday through Friday.

The E-Line serves the Warehouse District on West 9th and West 6th streets, Public Square and Tower City, the Entertainment District on East 4th Street, the theatres in PlayhouseSquare, Cleveland State University, and other commercial spots on Lower Euclid Avenue.

The B-Line circles Superior and Lakeside Avenues between West 6th Street in the Warehouse District and East 12th Street. It serves the State Office Building, Public Square and Tower City, Cleveland Public Library, the Convention Center, Cleveland City Hall, the Federal Office Building, Cuyahoga County offices and many other commercial locations.
