Did you know? The man of steel has roots right here in Cleveland. A product of the creative minds of two east-side high school students, inspiration for the original “last son of Krypton� can still be found in the buildings, houses and streets of Northeast Ohio.

The summer festival season is finally here! Every weekend from June to September, Cleveland and the surrounding region plays host to some of the best artistic and cultural celebrations around.

This weekend, forget buying dad the new tie and golf clubs. Instead, give him something more valuable, your time. Hang out with pops at these great Cleveland events that he, and the rest of the family, is sure to love.

On Saturday, June 15 from 10am-4pm, the new Cleveland Convention Center opens its doors to the public for the “Celebrate the Center: Community Open House and Celebration� event to show the community first-hand the newly-completed state-of-the-art facility.

Take to the streets this weekend – street festivals that is. Saturday, head to Parade the Circle at Wade Oval in University Circle.

Guys and Dolls, is perhaps, one of the most American of all Broadway musicals. As part of the traditional American theatre repertoire, Guys and Dolls exemplifies a perfect mix of what makes a perfect show... comedy, romance, clever dialogue, and of course, classic songs, from beautiful love ballads to toe-tapping show stoppers.

This weekend, spend a day downtown before the Indians vs. Tampa Bay Rays game. Take the family up to the Terminal Tower observation deck to see some of the best views of the city or experience the free Take a Hike tour offered through the Historic Gateway Neighborhood Corporation. Then, head over to the Great Lakes Science Center to see the opening of Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition, allowing you to experience the history of the Titanic like never before.
